Let’s be honest, we could all use more sleep that has us waking up restful and ready to tackle the day ahead. It’s super easy for someone to say “Well, just get more sleep” but what we don’t realize is, some of our environmental factors might be stopping us for getting a restful sleep.

Your phone is not your friend at bedtime.

I know that when I am up at night not able to fall asleep, the first thing I think to grab is my phone but I recently learned that our phones omit blue light from the screen. This blue light keeps your brain active and awake. The best thing to do when you can’t sleep is to grab a book until you’re tired.

Keep your sleep space, and work space separate.

This is probably my biggest problem and as I am writing this, I am still working on it. As a blog writer, we have the freedom to do our work almost anywhere. Most days, this space for me is my bed in my pjs with a large cup of coffee but when my body is ready for sleep my brain thinks its work time because of the environment. I have switched it up, cleaned my desk and now I try to work there or in a coffee shop.

You might just be deficient in vitamins and minerals.

There are many vitamins and minerals that work together to assist us with deep sleep. One of those minerals that we use every day is Magnesium. Our bodies seem to always be deficient in magnesium however due to its constant need and lack of demand in our food sources. The answer most of the time is just supplementation. Ease Magnesium is a great product from Activation Products, that is known to assist with sleep and balancing the magnesium levels.
