Healthy Body by You is more than happy to feature the lovely Daryn, from On the Road to Fitness to help us stick to our resolutions and end this month right!!
Welcome to February!!! We made it through the first month of 2019 and if it was anything like mine, you deserve all that this year has in store. Granted it was only a month but we had some good days, we had some bad days, and we had some days that felt like “What was THAT!!”. It was the first month to get the year off to a great start, but it had some bumps in the road.
Personally, my world was turned upside down from the start. A lot of unexpected surprises. Some good and some not so good, I try not to call situations “bad”. How we view things is how we react to them, so there are no “bad” situations. Being as how this change up was completely unexpected, it did take me for loop and took some time to adjust to.
No, I didn’t sit in my room and think this isn’t what I had planned so there is no way that I can achieve my goals, so I’m going to give up. I instead assessed the situation, remembered my goals for the month, and made the necessary changes. It’s a good thing to take a minute to yourself to assess the situation to make the necessary adjustments.
We need to learn to RESPOND to situations, as opposed to REACTING to them.
It is 100% ok to have had some missteps while carrying out your goals. It’s a part of life. Don’t get down or beat yourself up about it. Things happen that are out of our control. It’s how we respond to them that determine the real outcome!! It’s important to know that if we fall short, we can always pick back up and get right back on track. This is what we call ADULTING. I personally am not a fan of adulting but most days I don’t have a choice LOL.
Regardless of what January has given you, February is here to stay!!! Now is the time to get February all the way in ORDER. And now that it is here we may have some reassessments to do. Even if you did achieve all of your goals for the month of January (super high five for you !!!), there still may be some changes that you want to make.
We want to take the time to figure out what worked for us, what didn’t work for us, what we can do better on, and what we totally mastered and dominated at. This will help us be even more successful during the month of February. The key to crushing your goals is not only making them real and tangible, but to be specific and not too broad.
To make sure that our reassessment of our goals from January and our goal setting for February is completely on point, I have come up with some tips to get you on the right track.
